During the 90s Chevy/Geo used a Toyota engine, believe it was the same as the Corolla's...

Does anybody if they still used that engine in 99?

Gotta 99 Prizm for 1300 and looking for something cheap...

need to correct you on this. the corolla from 98-99 had a 1zz, but it was non-vvti. the vvti engine was available from 2000 - up. the mr2 spyder has vvti. unless you want to change the ecu then he would want a non-vvti 1zz engine.

 

You're right, as it was mentioned in the article that I posted... Oops, let me rephrase.

That motor is the same engine in my Spyder (minus VVT-i).

 

it's the same engine family not same engine. the old non vvti's also had aluminum tube intake maniforlds whereas the vvti motors have plastic plenums.
