I was speaking in a huge generality there. I paid well over a grand for that specific repair.

last time i had to pay for a R&R trans is was a lil under $2K

and that was for a 727 torqueflight trans and torq converter

i still have the original clutch in my car. and i know the first gen xb has a weak clutch to begin with. if i can make it to 200,000 ill be very happy.

i feel better driving a manual.

if you can find yourself a cheap beater, i say go for it. if you REALLY wanna learn how to drive MT, youll catch on real quick.

unlike my older bro, who back in high school was forced to TRY to learn MT cause all my family had was MT cars. but the butthead gave up & saved for an AT car for himself but if youre really into it & willing to give it an honest try, its easy as pie!
