Another worthy e-mail. I should learn from this. I complain too much about petty things. I guess this could be a perfect opportunity to donate to the Toys for Kids Drive on SL even though unfortunatly the kids below won't be part of it. Thank you.

Not really. I cant say much, I dont have a right to complain about anything. Im more materialistic then more people but I try and help when and where ever I can.

I do, and I am sure they will be received in a fashion other than which it is intended. We need to realize that humans, while more highly developed particularly with the frontal lobe, are still animals. As such there is a cycle of life. Death is a natural balance to life and must be held to no lower of a standard.

As for the concept of feeding the poor and sick, is it not more reasonable that more funds should be spent in prevention rather than treatment. The people viewed in this this declaration are not unaware of their circumstance and yet they continue to reproduce, a very troubling situation indeed.
Without seeing more data I would go so far as to say that the aid administered from private donation will inevitably do more harm than good, as providing for the young only allows them the opportunity to become of age to reproduce, thereby exacerbating the problem.
The majority of our species cares little for the other animals in our eco-systems yet somehow we feel that OUR lives should be preserved at all costs. Very interesting subject from the sociological POV.
The point of this type of propaganda is to create a sense of guilt in a region of people who have always been seen as cash cows among the rest of the world. Just another sort of manipulation to build revenue for the multi billion dollar industries that spew this type of trash in oder to prey upon the weak minded.
Of course this is strictly my opinion and I speak here frankly because I am confident you know my intent is not to be inflamitory.

GIOVANNI - I believe that if you REALLY want to help ppl in other conutries you need to GO there and get yr hands dirty: construct a school, construct a hospital, construct infrastructure and housing don't just donate money where God knows where it ends up going.

This thread is just for those of us who complain at petty little things in everyday's lives while others have way bigger problems to complain about.

No propaganda. I added the "toy drive" just because I felt like it. Nothing comes to me.

 

Then why post the propaganda with starving kids as the selling point? Why not just mention the toy drive?

I mean really now, there is genocide happening RIGHT NOW in Darfur. Ask John Citizen walking down the street what s/he thinks when they hear that word and the most common word to come out of there mouth is, "Dar-who?"

 

Again for it to be propaganda there would have to be an end on profit to who "sells" it.
I'm not selling anything. I won't receive toys. Hence, not propaganda. My mom sent it to me cos I was complaining about my foot to her last night.

If yr so stubborn on this point I can take off the *toys Drive* from my title

 

instead of worrying about other countries i would prefer to help out the people in the us. we can and never will be able to stop what happens in other countries and it is sad to use the money on our own people. we all have the right to complain. we were just lucky enough to be born and raised in a country other then that.
