this is for those who don't know much about fencing or think it really isn't a sport.

Individual Womens Sabre.

Gold- Mariel Zagunis (USA)
Silver - Sada Jacoboson (USA)
Bronze - Becca Ward (USA)

All three medals, the US's first gold in the Olympics and Zagunis is a back to back gold medalist.

I have been fencing for some time now, i coach it also, but this is something that all people should watch. go to nbcolympics.com and watch the videos of these girls. also, watch the men when they go on, you wont be disappointed. I will be updating this thread as the events happen.

 

I was watching it this morning on nbc and it was really impressive!

 

the one who came in Bronze, Ward, will be attending Duke this year. I train with some of the Duke fencers so I am trying to get her to come down to my club and fence some of my students.
