all i can say is go ALIENWARE

www.alienware.com

I have one of the laptops and i can run games like Battlefield 2142 on full graphics on my bigscreen and it runs smooth (all this in a laptop). Alienware is specifically built with gaming in mind (but i take it to college classes every day too). Your computer will already come ''pre-tweaked'' for its best possible performance without upgrading any parts.

And let me make this one clear, DO NOT GET WINDOWS VISTA. Pretty much any game you have right now wont work or wont work properly at least. Not to mention if anything gets messed up there is absolutely no tech support for anything yet.

Just get windows XP and you'll be golden for a long time. Im a huge alienware fanatic, their stuff works awesome

He went through this about 2 weeks ago and went through about 30 posts trying to convince everyone that his Toshiba is far superior to Macs and that macs are just wastes of money. I've already done the math, feature for feature, a premium pc is more than a Mac that outperforms everything with 20% of it's price.

Yeah, those rock too. BUT, a good Mac - comparably priced Mac - can run with it for games - I know, I do it!
The big advantage is that with the Mac, you can run BOTH natively and FAST!

Either way, they are both excellent choices.

Since this has already been discussed a couple months ago, I'll just link to another thread which I posted in.

Mac's ARE more expensive than Windows. That is a fact because Mac is the only company that makes Mac OSX based computers. As for Toshiba's sucking, almost everybody I know with a laptop has a Toshiba, from Windows 95 to Vista Ultimate. They are great laptops if your not an idiot who can't figure out how to use them properly, in which case all Windows computers will suck for you... Not running OSX on Windows properly? I've seen multiple people do it and it works like a charm. And thanks for calling me an idiot SciontCya but next time maybe you could consider the fact that not everybody loves Mac beyond belief and should be bashed for their opinions if they are different from yours. Explain to me how my post is misguided... I informed the guy that he could get a PC with the same specs cheaper than a Mac and he could dual boot on both systems. I'm not an all out Mac hater, really I'm not, I think it's a great OS for everyday computing, I just personally prefer Windows and I choose to voice my opinion. The end.

I can build custom computers..just fyi. :-) PM me if you're interested, we can start as low as $400.00, just depends what you're looking for... :-) Or, just go with DELL< they've got a GREAT warranty system, but on the downside you get stuck talking to Amburashmit from india who doesnt know ____ about tech support and is just reading you scripts over and over again

nothing wrong with paying for a name. I personally like the way goldlines feel over teins, but many would go with teins just for a name.

Not to mention the excellent tech support with alienware. The alien respawn kit and bug report is about the coolest thing ever. I press a button (if it doesnt do it automatically) and it literally sends the diagnostic info to alienware whom sends me a response within a few minutes to an hur or so.

And i get to talk to Bob from california who speaks perfect english
