This is straight from the book i have.

1. Mount your iPod on your PC

2. Open the My Computer window, and double click the iPod

3. Choose Folder Options from the Tools menu to open the folder Options dialog

4. Click the View tab

5. Below the Hidden Files and Folders entry, click Show Hidden Files and Folders

6. Click Apply

7. Open this folder and then the Music folder within it. Inside this folder, you'll find your music files inside folders that begin with the letter 'F'--F00, F01, F02...Etc.

8. Click the Search button in the window's toolbar, aqnd search your iPod for specific songs to copy to your PC's hard drive

9. To copy songs, just open the appropriate folder and drag the files to your PC's hard drive

I think thats it. I also think you can skip number 8 if you want to transfer ALL the files to your hard drive. Just click and drag ALL files over. This may take some fine tning and trial and error being that I haven't done this in awhile and don't remember the exact procedures to do this.

I hope this helps and let me know if it does and if there's anything else I can help with! Good luck with it.

no matter what i do. whether it's trying to copy and drag all files or whetehr it's using copy pod which i had. only like 1300 songs get pulled from the ipod. the rest are on my ipod but completely invisible/undetected/gone in the eyes of my computer , copypod , and ephpod. weak. i guess i'll spen upwards of a month uploading a few hundred cd's and downloading a few thousand more songs.

that's weird. It sounds like they are hidden or soemthing, but if they were the iPod wouldn't detect them either...strange indeed.
