We may not agree with what corporations do, but they are in it to make money. That will never change. Trust me, I agree with all of you...wish all USA business would stay and give our own country the jobs, but other companies can do things much cheaper, which in turns gives us a cheaper price. And of course, more profit to the corporations.

What do you expect? American companies are in business to make money. Unfortunately, other countries can produce certain products at a much cheaper price then here locally. Look at the ski industry for example, 95% of ski manufacturers have taken their business to China and other nations overseas. The ones that have not have been swallowed up by the major companies. It's not corruption is practical business sense. Again, all companies are out to make a profit.
My friend you've missed the distinction. Businesses are out to make a profit true. At what cost? Then hiring child labor, because there's more profit on the bottom line is ehtically sound right? The corruption lies in the bottom line. You want to talk about whats fair? It's convenient to say such things because we live in the bubble of afluency, never really understanding or realizing the countless lives ruined. There's more to life than making a buck. It's one thing to sell for profit, but Hornet was pointing out Ford's anti-American involement. Truth be told, Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor company, was personally given a **** medal(the Grand Cross of the German Eagle) by the German Air Force minister, Hermann Goering in July 1938.
Go buy a Ford, I dare you. Live your oblivious life in your bubble. Just don't cry when you wake up, and your children, or your children's security is at risk. You reap what you sow. Corruption breeds corruption.

I'll leave you with this link to a music video by at the drive-in that touches on a result of NAFTA agreement. It's a music video on the subject of "maquiladoras," which are US owned companies, used to exploit cheap labor and to avoid tariffs. 70%are women workers, and as a result are preyed on by rapists & murderers.

To bring up the scion is a japanese car, and tieing that into a freedom hating image from WWII is out line sort to speak. Are you to suggest anything of japanese product/culture is to invoke such images? I guess the next time I eat sushi, it should invoke the unprovoke attack which cost the lives of 2000 American lives. Excuse me sir, but give me a break
you didn't make the connection so let me clarify what i meant. hornet labeled an american automaker as "freedom hating" because of business dealing prior to america's involvement in wwII. ford worked with germany prior to the war when we did not dislike germany. thousands of companies from all over the world made products for germany prior to the war. so what? in reality that has nothing to do imo, with freedom hating.

i made a connection that he was kind of insinuating "i wouldn't drive a ford because they were freedom haters during wwII". i found that somewhat ironic, particularly since he drives a vehicle manufactured by a country that clearly was "freedom hating" during wwII. so it seemed a bit disingenuous to me.

i was not commenting in any way on the japan of today. it's old history; what images you conjur while eating sushi is of no concern to me. btw, break given.

yeah it happens on all fourms. I post on both hondatec and here quite often. Some of the newbs on Hondatec bash me for having a "toaster", but they dont realize that Ive been a Honda guy since 95 so I just tell them "Ive been in this game since you were driving powerwheels." So just dont mind the bashing because it happens everywhere.

I like to bash Chinese vehicles aka Death traps. I usually don't bash hondas or civics, just Sis. I can't stand how everyone jumps on the Si jockstrap.
