Default I don't care how you look at it, Microsoft Sucks

I am disgusted with how they are handling the 360 release. No, I didn't get one, nor do I want one. I am waiting until the 15th of Dec for Sam's Club to stock their bundle then I will consider it.

Microsoft for one would like to create mayhem and crime. How? By limiting how many they release. Where's the crime coming it? People getting jacked for it, people breaking into cars to swipe it, people getting stabbed and shot for them, and houses getting broken into for them, just because someone who waited outside Walmart all night to get one wasn't lucky to get one out of 100 people because Walmart had to raffle off the only 14 they had to those 100 (4 of the $400 and 10 of the $300).

People will get killed for one, undoubtedly. Will Microsoft be held responsible? Nope, even though the publicly admited to what they are doing.

This media hype is BS and I hope Sony doesn't do the same. May they have as many as the public demands so they can be successful and limit this crap.

Microsoft knew how many they needed, because of the Presale tickets. And now places cannot honor the presales because even though they got 100 requests, even major stores such as Best Buy only gets 50, and won't receive another shipment until after Thanksgiving.

Oh, BTW, a few people here I work with have one, and they can't even play it because it shuts down due to a "Thermal Event".

That's my rant. Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.

The same capitalism that drives the economy around you is the same capitalism that drives Microsoft.... They cannot be held accountable for the actions of individuals fed by their own greed...

I don't appreciate their business practice, as I would like their product without intensely competing for it, but it is the nature of Supply and Demand and when you have that much intense demand, it only makes sense to control supply to market your product the most effective way.... They are out to make money, not to supply you with a product.... that is the perspective you must take.... as that is the sole purpose of publicly traded companies.... to make money....

The flipside is to rush a flawed product to market. If peeps are having "thermal Events" that render the device useless, would it be better business practice to have 20x as many of those upset customers? Maybe they have to sit on things til they resolve that issue?

Many of the people that would jack someone for their "newly released" xBox would still jack someone for one 6 months from now when the supply has increased. Is that still Micro$oft's fault?

I love it. That's so you know it's genuine MS.

not a big fan of MS overall, but almost every company out there "rushes" items out to make $$$..its not just MS. (to play devils advo)

MS is rather annoying, ive gone 100% "legit" in windows use at home now for a while and I have to say I HATE it...i freaking gotta jump through hurdles to do anything or change anything. I cannot stand the fact that I spend 200 bucks on Windows XP..yet I have no right to do much with it...I dont even "own" it..your basically RENTING it.

on a side note i'm switching complete to Linux shortly so bye bye MS for good ...except at work of course lol

I can download Linux free OR buy a box of it...and IT IS MINE!! I can put it on 5,000 pc's if I want to.

Sounds like a MS bashing, however they do make good products sometimes, I love Office 2k3 actually, MS Money is helpful at home too I like it...there are others.

Well when you think about it, do you really own anything media based? Take any music CD, even though you bought it, you basically bought the right to listen to it. Copy it 5,000 times and find yourself in some serious do-do. Movies and games too, you bought a license.

The thing with Linux is that it's has been agreed to be left as open-source and the license that goes with means not any one person can own it so you can modify it anyway you please.

The thing is that companies like RedHat or Mandrake don't make much money from selling their copies of Linux, but more from the things that make their versions unique. If Windows were open-source, you'd have more flavors of it than your local Baskin-Robbins and the huge empire we know as Microsoft wouldn't be.

You can copy a cd or movie as many times as you want. You won't get into trouble untill you try to make money off of it.

True, but putting it on 5,000 pc's is what got Napster in trouble
