I LOVE IT, BUT I HATE IT!!
I don't know about anyone else and I'm not expecting any responses to this but I just have to say that I love this site, but I hate it.
I love it because I sign on and there are some really awesome things that I see people doing to their cars and I start to think about doing the same thing or something similar. I don't have to be the guinny pig. I can see the results other people got and use it in my research. Any mod that I've done to my car since purchasing it I have gotten an idea for it somewhere along the line from this site. This site plays sometimes a small role or a large role in what I do and I love it for that.
Now people can say that taking the ideas is unoriginal or whatever they want, but I just do what I do because I saw it somewhere and I liked it. I thought that was the purpose of this place. But I love that poeple are always doing something to their rides to make it "their own." Not to mention the help that I have gotten from people here. There are times when I got stuck and I knew I could just search around the site or go to a specific person and get some support for what I was doing, and it REALLY helps. Not to mention that people, at least from my experience here, are not so bent up about, "OH, you're just copying what I did and you suck for that, POSER!" BLAH BLAH BLAH. People may have the same or similar mods, but there is always something there that sets the two cars apart. I LOVE SL.
That being said, let me explain why I hate this site. Everytime I log on there is ALWAYS something new that people are doing to their rides and it gives me all these ideas. Whether I want to do a similar audio setup or power mods. Everytime I sign on I get ideas in my head of how to personalize my car or improve its power or whatever. It's costing me a small fortune. Of course it's my own damn fault! But I sign on and there's another couple of hundred dollars worth of stuff I want or want to do and it kills me. But for this same reason I love it. I was talking with a few people the other day about my car and what plans I had for it. I, finally, came to the conclusion that people who don't mod their cars and do "work" to it to make their own or increase this that or another thing....they just don't get it. They don't understand why we do what we do.
But it really kills me how I keep getting all these ideas and mods and whatnot. I'm spending all this money when I could, and SHOULD, be saving for more important things. Does this mean I'm going to stop....HELL NO!! I'm gonna keep going and when I get the chance, financially, I'm going to do something to my car.
So....I love how I can get information on topics, but I hate how I always find something to do because I know it's going to cost me, but to me it's worth it. I love it and I hate it. HAPPY MODDING to all!

Yeah, I see tons of stuff I woud like to do to my car, but the wife keeps me in check, thank god, what with house , car and child support, I can't afford to do many mods, but I have things that I want to do and they will wait until I get the money saved.
