Default Need help with a paper

"Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential"
- Winston Churchill

I'm currently writing a paper on if I agree or disagree with this quote.
A part of the assignment is to get other people's opinions too.

So here I am, asking you guys.

What do you think on this quote? Do you agree/disagree? Why or why not?

Oh, and I'll need your last name and what city/state you're from if I use you (:

Uhh... I've been done with my part since last Friday.

I need 3 other's to put in their own input.
I'd ask my fam, but they are all working or at school.

I figured that I can at least get one person off of SL who
maybe be bored. I'm pretty sure you'd do the same.

Sorry, must've skipped the line that said you needed others help. I guess the decent thing to do would help out now. Here it goes:

"Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential"
- Winston Churchill
I disagree. Without having intelligence or strength, you will not be able to put forth the continuous effort in the area in which it is needed. Being a hardworker is one thing, but knowing how to work properly or to be a "smart worker" is what will help you solve whatever the issue is. To me, it seems as though the continuous effort relies on luck kicking in instead of good old fashioned elbow grease.

Hope that helps out a bit.

I second that! You have to have the motivation to carry on, the strength to complete the task, and the intelligence to know what the crap you're doing! Work smarter not harder...

I Disagree. Even though effort would be the key to learning more or getting stronger, it simply wouldn't work alone. You can work hard all your life, and put forth tons of effort, but in the end any potential you may have gained would only be for that one thing. Now put effort into knowledge and you have something because that knowledge can be used to excel in life, be it with a career or smarter choices every day.

Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential
I agree. You guys are assuming that continous effort means work blindly. That is not what Mr. Churchill is saying. There are many intelligent people who do not apply themselves and never reach their full potential. Likewise, many nations have large, storng populations that have great potential but never rise above a third world nation. It takes intelligence to set a course and of course the strength must exist to endure. It is the continuous effort that causes the rise above mediocrity and obtaining ones full potential.

exactly what i think, you can put all the effort you want into something but without intelligence you will keep failing if you dont tweak your approach. you have to know where you went wrong and how to fix it before you try again, if not youre just being stubborn.

I agree with ol' Winston C. There are a lot of strong and inteligent people in this world that never reach their potential. Potential isn't about being the best or the smartest in a group of people. It's about doing the best that you can do. If you don't keep working at something, you'll never improve and be the best that you can be.
