The earth doesn't "decide" to do anything. Processes occur, chemical levels change due to reactions and other things. Even if carbon dating is slightly off, it is better than nothing. It at least has some validity. I have yet to see any proof for the dating of things in the bible. ****, most people can't even decide of a day means a day or an aeon...

Because they are sharks, not humans. Sharks can also breathe water, humans can't. What's your point? Fish and reptiles are notoriously known for being able to change their gender. I don't know of a single mammal that does this.

On a side note, is less sharks really a problem? What good do sharks do to the ecosystem.

Is adaptation the same as evolution?

Wow, that was ignorant...

Sharks control the populations of its prey so that they don't grow uncontrolled and ravage the food supplies. If you remove the predator, the prey grows too large in number, the species eats too much, strips an ecosystem bare, then they all starve to death. It is attitudes like that that caused the spread of the Black Death. (well, that and the paranoid superstitious christians killing off all the cats...)

Evolution is not adaptation. Evolution can cause adaptation.

they keep the population of large predatory fish down.

adaption is a general term for a part of evolution. same with natural selection, both things are proven, and that is why you look really stupid for saying evolution doesn't happen. Have you ever seen a real rose? through man made evolution, we have turned the rose from a 4 petaled flower to one with 12+.

again, for the hundreth time. evolution can be a term for what the horse went through, going from a 4 toed small mammal to a single toed giant mammal. Evolution is not the name for some entire theory of going from the big bang to human life.

How much money would I be looking at to have a hammer head shark or two as pets?

Ever hear of sarcasm? Calm down chief.

BTW, aren't you the one who claims we will evolve to a point when we dont have pinky toes? That we use to have 6 fingers? Can you show me a site that talks about that?

Krusty, I could show you a site that says the earth is still flat. You should probly look it up yourself in addition to letting him find it. But he is right...

Breeding something to make a different variety is Evolution? So if I breed a bulldog and a shih-tzu, I evolved a Bull&%$#? Everyone I know tells me Evolution takes millions or billions of years. Including you guys.

you can't. the only sharks really available to the aquarium trade are horned sharks and bamboo sharks.

I believe if you got a wild animal handler's license, you could get a tiger shark as well.

sharks have a horrible mortality rate. since i've worked at a fish store for 3 years, and had saltwater tanks for about 7 i know you get about 20% chance of a bamboo shark living(the most popular shark in the aquarium trade, and it stays under 4foot). Sharks are soooooo picky at eating, and most all starve to death.

The most successful keepnig of bamboo sharks is getting an egg for $20-40, letting it hatch and feeding it silversides or squid as soon as it hatches. from there it should be fine if your water's parameters are in check. u really shuold get a 280+gallon tank with 1 adult, and you're looking at $2k+ for a used setup that just requires maintence, or like $4k+ for a new one.

sharks suck because u have to dedicate so much money to them, and if you want a "classic" looking shark, u need a 3000+ gallon tank and a tiger shark that magically doesn't grow incredibley depressed when u keep it(if u did, it will just hover at the bottom of the tank).

I just say that because when I say something, I usually offer proof. (Boy, Im going to pay for saying that aren't I?)

Having sharks as a pet would be kinda cool.
