remote mount turbo
firstly i am not thinking about installing such a thing.
recently ive noticed that there are turbo kits that mount the turbo in the rear of the car. they say that with turbo bolted and driven by the exhaust system you get the same boost with this type of kit without the fear of having to have all that heat in the engine bay. also it supposedly is a good option for those with tight engine bays.
i was always under the notion that turbos were not just compact windmills but what turned the turbines was thermal expansion. so it wasnt the movement of the exhaust that turned it but the efficient harness of the thermal expansion from the exhaust pulse.
i really want to hear the opinions of you guys. i know this type of system works cause ive seen some SEMA cars sporting it. thoughts on efficiency? thoughts on practicality?

thanks for the links..
pros: kinda sleeper, no turbo header needed, its a properly sized turbo where lag shouldnt be a huge problem
cons: hydrolock a turbo?, scrapes, and you cant show this off without getting on the floor..
