Default School bans "tag" and other chase games

WTF??? kid feels safer due to the rule?? if you dont feel safe..dont play??

no wonder this country is goin to hell in a basket.... no tag, no flag football, no dodgeball,
next will be nothing that uses any objects other than hands, no contact with other kids, and nothing more than 1" off the ground

Another Willett parent, Celeste D'Elia, said her son feels safer because of the rule. "I've witnessed enough near collisions," she said.

Awwww, poor little baby....near collisions can scar a little tyke for life! Let's hope this little mama's boy never has anything go wrong in his little life......

What a crock of crap!

Banning physical contact and the tremendous spread of "paranoid mom" sterilizers like Febreeze will be the end of us. Kids in the future will bruise from just brushing someone and get sick from the most trivial encounters. Foolish.

First they cut Physical Education funding in the schools and now this! Little things like this makes children live sedentary (inactive) lifestyles later on.

Well if they can't play games, make them work. I say we give them shovels and dig holes and such for recess. Takes time to do, and combats obesity through total body use.

^^ yeah.. i guess have a treasure hunt and have them dig up the schoolyard

while in actuality it's disguised as child labor and future construction/development of school grounds.

Hmm. I wonder what they would have thought if they would have seen us play Smear the Qu___? BTW, Red Rover was 10x more wicked than tag ever was.

I dunno...an outfielder could et hit with that ball!! it might knock the air out of them...

Or the kid running around the bases could trip and hurt himself and could even tear his ACL and other knee ligaments!!!

And that would result in an atomic bomb explosion!!!

So...they just want kids so sit around during recess now? Theres not enuf swings out there for everyone, and i'm sure accidents can happen on jungle gyms(sp?) if theres 2 many ppl on it at one. Overal, stupid decision IMO.

Now that you mention swings... Did anyone ever play on the swings like it was a gauntlet? I remember doing that. Everyone was on a swing swinging at different speeds and one person had to go through without getting hit. Man that was fun. If I could remember how many times I got booted then I'd probably be in a coma.

Strangely enough, after getting knocked into, kicked around, hit by a car, set on fire(dont ask) and pretty much every other accident that can happen to a kid, I'm still alive and doing well.

So, who will the kids sue when they grow up to be little China Dolls? Who will they sue because they bruise like a peach?
