Smile Scion tC1 or tC2 Sunroof Deflector solution..

Yesterday my car was met with tragedy. Something hit my sunroof deflector and shattered it. I asked the dealer of something like that would be under warranty. They told me that only mechanical defects is under warranty. To replace this glass is over $350,
I don't have that kind of money so I used my skills and still had to spend some money and this is what I did to fix my issue. Now I have a money making solution for cars like mine with similar sunroof setups. Spread the word. I know the Mercedes Kompressor V8
hatchback has a glass roof like this too.

Looks pretty good but, the tC2 has mesh there instead of glass.

My tC2 has a mesh deflector, no glass like Gen1. However I wish it did have glass like Gen1. My brother has a Gen1 and on the highway with the sunroof open it is way quieter then mine.
However at low/normal speeds Gen2 gets a lot more air coming inside the car. I guess its a trade off? lol

Wind deflector recall back in ’05. They re-enforced it with a strip of vinyl.

What did you use? How did you get the materials?
