Default Shipping Cars

Hey all. Here's the deal. I just recieved a summer internship working with Toyota so I will have to ship my car from Rochester, NY to Torrance, CA. Has anybody here shipped a car before or know of a company that ships cars cheap? I'm not moving until this summer so I have some time to plan a lot of things out. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

shipping your car cross country will cost between $500 to $1000. Depending on the company you use and wether or not you drop the car off, or have them come and get it. Some companies charge A LOT more for the "door to door" service. I am planning a cross country move also (opposite direction from you... CA to MD) and I opted to just sell my cars. I'm gonna miss the XB! Your move sounds less permanent though, so you may just want to pay the money to keep your car. Hope that helps, and good luck with the internship!

Even if you offered a buddy of yours a deal, like he drives, and you fly him back, it'll be expensive as all get out. Airfare + gas + food and lodging for your buddy would total $6 - 800.

The UHaul idea is probably the best. But trucking accross country in a Uhaul is grueling. Is the company offering to help out with any expenses?

thanks for the replies so far. I talked to human resources today. They offer a vehicle lease program for 150 a month and that quote includes insurance. Not sure what kind of car it is, most likely something in the toyota family...lol. I think i'm going to do the lease option instead. I'll miss the tC for a few months though!
