Oh cool, I was actually contemplating getting an acrylic case for a while. I hear they have problems with overheating/moisture though. Ever have any issues with that yourself? Seems like you got plenty of fans though, so I doubt there'd be a big problem for you...

eh my friend has one. its mostly for looks but his collects madd amounts of dust and its a pain to take apart and put together. Id say stick with aluminum.

My case is mesh, but thankfully the inside is mostly dust free. The outside by the fans though gets caked with dust every few hours or so. I just end up wiping it off most of the time. Wish I could figure out a way to cut down on the dust in my apt...

when I get home I'll take some pics of mine. I've regretfully neglected my poor PC since the tC, I have LEDs that dont light up, a dead fan or two and a mess of cables ... it's like the bastard first born that no one ever wants to keep around after the new baby's born

Do servers count??? I run a 1U rackmount Asus running two Dual-Core Italy Opterons, 16Gig of RAM, a Terabyte of storage (RAID setup) running Suse 10.1, Postfix, Amavis, Courier-IMAP, etc., etc.. This thing SCREAMS! Literally! Every time I boot this thing up, it sounds like a Concorde at takeoff! Do I win?
If you choose to go Linux, try Suse 10.1. It is, by far, the most fully functional and easy to use flavor of Linux available. Endlessly customizable and very forgiving when it comes to a learning curve. I tried learning Linux using Gentoo. <-- Bad Idea!
