Sign petition for no leinency for 5 youths burning a dog
I do not usually get involed with things like this but it was to messed up for words. Hope the little shi*z sit in jail for a long time over this or some other type of punishment...
Guess you can help by signing this. The excuse "they are just kids" does not come into play here, I knew better at 4 years old than these little a-holes know at 9-14 years old. Idiots.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Five Nashville boys, accused of setting a dog on fire, appeared in court Thursday.
On Tuesday, four of the boys were booked into the juvenile detention center. The youngest boy was sent home, but all appeared in court Thursday.
A juvenile court judge Thursday placed three of the boys under house arrest; one boy was kept in detention and the fifth boy was sent to the custody of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services.
The incident happened Sunday near an abandoned house. The boys are ages 9-14.
Metro Animal Control Officer Lina Hernandez said a witness reported seeing the animal "engulfed in flames."
"I heard a dog screaming," said Arthur Greer. "It sounded like someone beating a dog." Greer was in his backyard when he saw what looked like a ball of fire coming down the street.
"He had flames from head to toe and he was running so fast he was burning," Greer said. "He tried to lick himself when he was burning and his face caught on fire."
Someone lit a dog on fire and five boys were accused of doing it.
"They used gasoline from a neighbor's lawn mower or something and poured it on him," said Billy Biggs, Metro Animal Control field operations Officer Billy Biggs. "They were holding him by the collar and somebody struck the lighter."
Biggs is investigating the case.
"We charged all of them with aggravated animal cruelty, which is, in the state of Tennessee, a felony," Biggs said.
Witnesses said when they saw the dog, they went after it, trying to help it, but they never found it.
"It broke my heart and scared me to death see something like that," Greer said. Greer said he went after the boys and turned them in.
"I said, Did you set the dog on fire?' and they said, no,'" Greer said. "So, I took them to the other kid's house and we got all the children from there."
One of the boys' mothers said that her son admitted to the crime.
"My son had the gas," she said. "He said he poured the gas on side of the dog and the other boy lit the match." She said the boys are very sorry.
"They are kids that normally don't set anything or anybody on fire," she said.

and yeah.. unless the kid(s) has a history of doing bad stuff... the parents are always gonna say "they are good kids.... never done that before..."
and im sure some other group will come out and blame the media/video games/movies etc... and not blame the parents or the kids...
*granted parents cant always be held accountable for what kids do... but still *
yeah they each need to have 1 hand burned off or at least a finger as a lesson IMO. They do somthing that cruel, then they need cruel punishment.
Hell or at least scare them with the thought of it, set a date to have there finger burned off with gas like a month out so they have to think of it day and night.

5 youths from 9-14. Don't you think there might be a possibility that some of the younger youths were just there and didn't have the maturity to stand up to the older kids about how wrong this is?
I would definitely have to hear a lot more on what happened that day before I'd go passing judgment on all 5 of the children.

Of course / agreed. There is always the main little turd in the group, one or two that go along with the turd and then a few spectators. That will be found out at the trial.
^yeah, I suppose the parents will turn a blind eye and start bashing movies and music for this incident.
I'm not surprised tho, that's what happens when parents leave their kids to go play in the woods. They never know, their kid might be the next Dahmer!

That's horrible! I agree with the people that think they should have atleast one of their fingers burned. Think of the poor helpless dog...it probably died
Sry, I'm just a huge dog fan and that is just down right unacceptable, I hope Karma's a b!tch to them....
This is absolutely disturbing! in my eyes, my dog is like my brother. i think all the kids should be burned to death... seriously! i don't care how old they are, they are only gonna get worse.. what's next for them??? going on shooting sprees in public places??

I'm thinking that anyone who can say they'd like to see children burned to death and be serious about it is a cause for concern.

Burned to death, really? Regardless of their involvement or age? You're surely just speaking recklessly, right? And you have no idea what the future holds for these children.

got a little carried away, sorry for sounding like a crazy a$$. i just got severely angered. I'm super passionate about dogs and it breaks me down when they are mistreated (especially this incident). i hope these kids do get severely punished. this is how a lot of serial killers started out. tormenting animals. then it starts getting worse... sorry people but i don't wanna live in a world filled with serial killers and evil people.

Okay, whew!
I understand about being passionate about dogs, I'm that way with my children. Back before I had kids though, I would look at my cat and try to imagine loving something more than it. Then, I had children and my perspective did a 180.
So I'm thinking about one of my children doing such a thing. I have an almost 9 year old and I can't imagine him setting fire to a dog. But then again, I can't say with any certainty that he'd try to stop a group of older kids from setting one on fire either. These kids are going to set fire to a dog... what would they do to him for standing up to them?
I was just thinking about this but when I was young, my cousin and I did some pretty awful things with a gardener snake and an electric fence. Ugh, it turns my stomach to think about it. I can't say that isolated awfulness has made me a menace to society. I haven't tortured or killed. I'm a loving mother and wife and haven't had any problems with the law. Definitely not evil.
Oh, and a handful of 7th grade boys in my Christian school took gold fish and cut their heads off using the huge paper cutter in the art room. One of those boys is a pastor now, lol.
Guess I'm saying is that it's way to early to just throw these kid's life away. There is no way to tell what their future will be like as adults.
These kids should be punished with consideration to the amount of involvement they had and age.

Yeah jenna, but a snake or goldfish doesn't meet you at the door and want to play with you. Dogs are way higher on the food chain than most other animals when it comes to loyalty and companionship.
I would take my dogs over most people anytime.

Hey guys, keep it on topic. No one needs to burn anything alive... Well we could burn 1 finger off to teach a lesson, I would support that
They sure as heck would never forget the pain / the pain they caused the animal.
I hope the owner of the animal goes after them big time. Someone burned my boxer or my one of my cats "yeah I am a big cat guy" I would probably loose it totally on them.
