Yes, SARS was overhyped and overblown... but at least it is a novel, deadly disease. Acute respiratory distress is HELL to treat, and since that's the immediate outcome of SARS, it gives us medicine people fits.

Swine flu on the other hand... IS SIMPLY THE FLU. In the past 5 months, less than 10 deaths confirmed by the WHO for "swine flu," and THOUSANDS caused by the "regular flu." Where's the panic ?
Yes, SARS was overhyped and overblown... but at least it is a novel, deadly disease. Acute respiratory distress is HELL to treat, and since that's the immediate outcome of SARS, it gives us medicine people fits.

Oh, and I think it was two "American" deaths. One of which, was a 2-year old Mexican citizen, who just happened to be in America when he died.
