Aright, as some of you know. I have moved down to FL and am attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. but honestly, I absolutely hate it. and I know its not just me because if I drive out to Orlando i have a blast, but as soon as I get back into Daytona Beach I'm struck with hate
the thought of spending the next 5 years of my life here make me wanna kill myself. Anyway. I'm thinking about transferring to Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in the City(NYC), well Flushing. But I'm not sure if I should do it or not. I mean this school is better but I honestly hate it with a passion. Plus having my gf... well more like fiance back in NY blows BIG. I know a lot of you guys are past college and what not so I was hoping to get an opinion. Should grab my ***** and just hate the next 5 years of my life and finish a well respected school. ORR should I say eff it, go home. Enjoy the next 5 years of my life, possibly get married and getting an aprtment with the mrs, and finish a descent school. I mean this other school isn't necessarily bad, Embry-Riddle is just better. Oppinions?
My teacher once told me. In all honesty, where you go doesn't matter unless its an Ivy League school. So I'm thinkin about packin it up and goin back to NY.
Oh yeah. Vaughn is 16K/yr and Embry-Riddle is 27.

save your money and go where you'll be happy... you have 5 more years to go, its a long time..
if it were 1-2 years, i'd say suck it up and stay in FL, but 5 years hating the place-thats too much

Which is more respected in the industry you're shooting for? Does it matter which school you go to in the long run as long as you get that degree? Which school can make you more connections for jobs down the road?
Yea it sucks to be going to a school in an area you don't like but, whats the reason you don't like it? There's gotta be something more to this mister.

don't transfer to a school unless you really know you'll like it there. a good friend of mine i grew up with went to embry riddle and he loved it, but i know no school is for everyone, some like it some hate it whatever. try going to frostburg state university. small middle of nowhere town, with nothing but bars (i don't drink) a super walmart and red necks. it gets very cold very fast, but thats not all, it is also VERY windy, so on day it is 15 degrees, and you think, well, next week it will be 27 degrees, but then with the windchilll, it is 13 degrees out, and the snow, and rain and ice and hills, somehow you end up walking uphill both ways in the harsh snow every stinkin day to classes. that builds character dude.
trust me, staying in daytona beats virginia any day of the year or year of the century for that matter.

well no one does anything here. Ever. I'm used to being home only for sleep. I was always out chillin with people. doing less then acceptable things haha. and no one does that here. Everyone just stays indoors and studies. That's it. Theres nothing to do in Daytona Beach, at all. 3/4ths of the town is completely run into the ground, and No offense to any southerners, but I personally like the norther culture more.
Education wise the school is okay. Education is good but I mean. 5 years of living here. Idk if i can take it. Another big thing my fiance. Also I'm a huge snowboarder. I love the cold. Florida doesn't exactly get cold. I've been here for 2 months and I've expierenced 2 very mild hurricanes and 3 tornades. wtf is that? i mean seriously. Like its basically complete opposite of what I like.
