I think the "shoved down our throats" thing refers to how hard/often this movie is being pushed in the media - commercials, news, etc. It's an agenda - that's a fact. Hollywierd is going to do that - it can't be denied.
Let's say this much - I don't see any dating threads here on SL (and if I'm missing them, apologies) for straight folks, but I do see the SCION/___ threads which appear to be a bit much, IMHO for a car site.

I have (as stated) ___ friends and neighbors and the ___ ones are now flying their "rainbow" flags all over - I don't see straight folks doing anything similar, so why?

The "___" threads are pickup threads and virtual tease/foreplay threads - not needed here. - Neither are straight threads with the same tone.
Why does "being a minority" mean you have to fly a freakin' flag? Give me a break - that's the "shoving it in our face" thing. Why? It's to shove it in people's faces - period.

Its the same as hanging an American Flag in your front yard. You are taking pride in being an American, but you are also shoving it down the throat of all the people who were born in other countries.

And considering there is 1 thread in all of ScionLife that the ___ owners are chatting in, I hardly feel people should be upset or threatened by it. And it's not a pick up thread by any means. We are all different ages and in different states and none of us have ever met. We are simply chatting with each other because it's the one thread where we can openly talk without having to worry about people bashing us.

 

I'm going to take a pass on seeing this movie.. I saw enough ___ love between Frodo and Sam in the LOTR trilogy..
