Remember, it's Windows. It will end up using even more memory than Vista uses.

Yea you're probably right.

I had Windowblinds on my old XP and it was twice as "fun" looking as Vista but my girlfriend insisted on buying it. She said Windowblinds made the computer slower.

Vista takes like 60% more room to run than Windowblinds and WinXP.

lol, and Vista didn't make it slow? I used Vista for a while when it came out, and when it wasn't crashing on me, it was running like ___.

I'll stick to OS X for personal use lol.

It was slow, but I changed some of the settings, the stupid pop up permission things, and changed the "Look" to windows basic.

That made it roughly as fast as my old XP with windowblinds, just ugly and windows 98 looking. Never had any problems with Vista crashing though

Pfft I'm sticking to XP until my *cough*.iso*cough* give out on me or I loose them. :?

See no reason to get Vista period. Have no CLUE wtf Windows 7 is about either. Either way... I'd rather go back to Apple than upgrade.

Also, never be the first in line for the first generation of anything. Wait till other people find the bugs and they're (hopefully) fixed in the next version. It applies to everything in life.

I liked Win98. And DOS.

I have a Mac for personal use and I've never looked back. I never used XP on a personal level. Went straight from 98 to OS X.

I have to use XP on a daily basis at work, and I took one of the tablets with Vista home and I wanted to throw it out the window (HA) after 20 minutes.

OS X does everything I need it to, and if I need to administer a work server from home, I can boot XP in Parallels and take care of it that way.

A friend of mine has a Mac Pro that he runs XP on for his rendering projects. He said it's the fastest PC he's ever used.

So yea, Windows 7 can suck it. Even MS knows it's crap. Hence the fact that they are jettisoning the name. They're going with "new name, I swear it'll work this time" as their mantra.

Windows Vista is the new Windows ME.
Win 7 is nothing more than a service pack for Vista without the taboo name.

well supposedly cut down on alot of stuff vista had that it didnt need
i mean u needed 2gb to barley run vista
adn win 7 run perfect with 1gb
i mean i use OS X (Tiger and Leopard) every day for my Media Class
and it pwns any form of Windows up the butt
but im crossing my fingers for win 7
hopefully MS can come up with something new thats at least a bit better than XP
cuz so far that have failed, epicly

Don't you think it's ironic that you need to virtualize a different Windows OS to do something that Windows can't do? It's that sort of derailment that I'm not understanding.

i was just saying to try it out on a virtual pc before you actually commit to running it in full on your computer.
