Simple story: I'm backing up on that empty spot you see in the picture. then boom. Guy blames me I'm at fault.

Stripes tells me my car is in the slot. but the stripes tell me his car was angled

 

his fault dude.. he shouldnt of been driving there in the first place. thats for people to walk right...

 

thats all him, thats for pedestrians to walk, not to drive through with your car b/c your too lazy to drive around.

 

he obviously wasnt supposed to drive in that WALKway. i think its his fault

 

its like the parking spot grew an integra as you backed into it.

 

technically I don't think you should be backing into a parking spot , however, he shouldn't be driving through there period..thats a crosswalk. He should have gone around and not through it. Since you have pics you probably have a fighting chance.

Although regardless of whether you were backing into the spot or not it should have been more than obvious to the guy you were trying to park there. It seems to me he wasn't paying attention.

What the heII was he thinking? Those lines aren't parking spots for Smart Cars. It's a crosswalk.
What a dumba$$. Where was he trying to go? As long as your tails are in good working order you
should be alright. I hope you weren't on your phone or texting when you were backing up. Although
you are also in the crosswalk, he shouldn't have tried to cut across the lot like that. GL.

When Acuras attack,that sucks man.........honestly I think he is gonna be found at fault for driving in a crosswalk,I meen if you were pulling straight in forward he would of hit you in the front side,so all in all had he not been driving there you would be fine.......insurance companies are gonna need to fight this one out......sucks.

There are a few things I want to say about the driver in the Acura most of which was already said so I'll keep my post short. I just want to know if he even saw you there backing up he must not have been paying attention I would hate to exchange information with that guy if he was found at fault....

I hope he is found at fault but i've seen stupid poop go down. Technicality since a portion of your car looks like it's also on top of the crosswalk they might try to argue that it's both your faults which would be complete bull I know but stuff like that happens all the time.

Just trying to give you another way to look at it, not trying to be negative.

He is at fault. CA state law says that if you get hit from behind (even quarter panel) the person behind you is at fault.

 

but I was backing up for my spot. so it could be something else... but my point is, I can't back up to someone using my quarter panel.

 

I know someone else mentioned that you were also in the crosswalk, but it appears that you are angling such that you are coming OUT of the crosswalk and moving into the space at an angle.

Make sure the insurance company sees those pics and then goes after the guy.
