One, always call the police and file a report. You pay taxes you should be allowed to request the public servants whether or not someone is injured. Also, where is his front plate? Why do you need to back into a parking space? This isn't a car show its a parking lot. Guy looks like a tool. What else is new?

Unfortunately in the great state of California (sarcasm!), if there are no injuries a report will not be done. When I got side swiped 60 feet away from my apartment I called the cops and upon their arrival, they informed me they will not do a report due to no injuries.

 

wtf.... that's dumb. I got smacked in between too parking lots, and I got a report and the guy's insurance. As everyone said, it's his fault.

that section is for handicapped vans. they have the extra space there to be able to drop the passenger from the side doors. he should not have been there, and you should not have to expect him to be there. im my opinion, he's at fault. let us know how it turns out.

 

Well, I am not going to provide any new info. One, not the greatest idea to back into or pull through spots in parking spots. But if it doesn't say head in parking only I am not sure there is anything wrong with it. That said, he is going to have to come up with some heck of a story to say why he was cutting through a parking spot and running on the crosswalk.

Your saving grace are these photos, I am not sure that his insurance company will be able to make a case against them. I would doubt your insurance company would settle.

If they try, I would say you have a good shot in court proving it to a judge.

Update: My adjuster called me and got my statement and these same pictures, only on higher resolution. In other words, nothing yet. But for sure its a dispute
