First post in quite some time. But what better reason than to announce my first wreck. Yep, some guy wanted my spot in the road. Hit me hard in the driver side rear. Then accused me of turning into him - even after a witness (a local attorney and law professor) told him she saw different. But, that was his story - and he stuck to it. Apparently, since my version, and the witness version were a closer match - the other driver was ticketed.

I took the car to my local Scion body shop. Ha! He said he won't write the estimate until the insurance company is notified. Totally convinced there is enough damage they are going to want to see it anyway. Got to give Toyota credit though - both the hatch and the gas cover are functioning.

I'll let you all know how it works out.

Oh yeah - as soon as the other guy realized my version was different from his he demanded we call the cops Of course I had to first find my cell on the passenger side floor. The poor witness was still upset when after giving her statement to the trooper. She also gave me her card - just in case

 

Yeah for the witness! I'm sure in 95% of wrecks, nobody who saw the wreck comes forth to be a witness.

I know how bad it sucks too... I was rear-ended in my xA less than a month after I took delivery - $7,000 damage!

 

wow, you guys are lucky to know who hit you. i was involved in a hit and run(i was in class and my car was in the parking lot). the guy didnt leave note or anything... so now i have 1600 dollars worth of damage on a car that only had 1000miles. OMG if i ever find the guy who did it lets say if i leave with his car looking like this, he should be thankful
