u sure it wasn't an expensive L lens? cause sharp shots are only taken with L lenses according to some people......

there are various degrees of sharpness between ef and L. are still arguing about the moon shots? hah, take a 200mm shot with an ef lens and a 200mm shot with an L lens fully extended shot of a distant object like the moon and you tell me which one will be sharper?

nah im just saying, just a lens doesn't mean one shot is gonna be better than the other. Yeah it does help but a tool is only as good as the person using and the knowledge that person has with the tool.

Skill matters of course, more so than quality of equipment I believe that. Get two competent photographers however give them 2 different lenses and take a shot of the exact same thing and the better lens will have better results.

this is what Im trying to get at. the moon is just a sample case. However it does take skill to take good photos and a keen eye. I was just mentioning a while back that the moon photos wasn't the best example.

equipment does matter when its in the hands of a good user Ive seen this first hand. not that the equipment necessarily makes the photographer, but the equipment less restricts the users potential.

my friends 20d with a 2.8 70-200L lens smokes anything my 50d and 70-300 ef is usm lens can ever hope to muster. Sharpness, saturation and contrast is on a whole different level.

Bah I want to go out and take some photos now. Been just taking photos when I go out with friends. Might go out tomorrow and take some new shots.

 

i need to stop working from 8 to 6 so i can get some decent day time shots.. i wish i could use 50mm with my d60 but im no good with the manual focusing..
