rule of thirds isn't really broken either

I suppose you can still cut the photo in 3rds. You're right now that i look at it more closely.
the focused image however isn't in a single third, however. Darn. I wasn't even planning to make the photo in 3rds I just took a snap, I see everything like that oh well.
in regards to the highlights being blown out, they're present in the original raw file. I stripped the color info and increased the exposure and sharpness, and went back with curves to make the lights and dark extreme purposely.
I see where you're coming from about the branch distraction.
I like there though
It adds depth and makes it more interesting imo.if you follow the lines (which are on the thirds) it guides your eye to whats in focus
here are random crapy pics
i wanted to see what my wheels would look like gold

i wanted to see what i would look like with a badgless grill

this one is just random and i didnt compose it all, just pointed and shot lol

next time your down there, try using one building to frame the reflection of another building
1st one, color and exposure are good, but the ***** looking structure seems out of place
both i think would look better if they were zoomed out...look into a polarizing filter too

roger that.. i was thinking the same thing about that sculpture..
i was zoomed out all the way on both tho.. i just got a polarizer but i forgot to put it in my bag this morning.. ill try to do the building reflection next time
any other critiques guys?

I wanted to have that dark tone to number 6. I'm always trying new things with the way I edit my shots. I did blur it in photoshop though. I'm currently saving up to build my own rig setup.

i use only Manual also, unles i'm doin exposure braketing or exposure mode, other than that mostly manual.
i did use Program mode in NYC though for those spur of the moment type pics where u dont really have a lot of set up time
