What really pushed me to Canon was my luck with the canon p&s I had. Which now unfortunatley is in someones hands that found it in the NYC cab I left it in! I almost bought anopther one but figured nah ill go slr this time.
Been into photography for a while but just this past year or two started taking it seriously.
I still prefer FILM over digital. I could talk bout Film and name some film brands and u'd guys would be confused and going into ur manuals trying to figure out what setting that is and how to get it. ha ha

however if budget constraints are in play, which most of the time it is, the t1 was a very worthy contender for back up. Its essentially 50d light with video recording.
however if its just for a back up camera and you're going to go full frame anyway, why not an xsi or 30d?
unless you need the 720p video recording. I know the t1 has 1080p but the frame rate is so bad its unusable.

I need a back up camera to cut down time on lens changes and if one fails during an event im photographing.
but Id want a 5d markii simply for the full frame, wide angles and superb high ISO performance.
but before that I actually need to get more remote flashes. So an XSI wouldn't be out of the equation if a back up was required when push came to shove.
for the price of the t1 is asking, not sure if Id want to spend that much for a back camera.
but it is a good value, like I mentioned earlier its essentially a 50d light.

Ive been fortunate enough to be around a lot of people in the field and learned a lot from that.
NY, get a circular polarizer and it will help with the water shots and help enhance color and all.
Flower shot is really busy. Duck has a lot of dead space. Just my opinion tho, I can't really give u a critique considering I am still learning myself.
Ace, I HATE u. ha ha I want the 17-40 big time. But i've got enough Wide angle lenses really. Need to scoop up a 70-200 or a 100-400.

Unfortunately since those shots were taken at 11:00 at night when the bugs around here are pretty dormant, it was quite hard to get accurate focus (was using a 100mm with kenko tubes), but also, on the top pic of the crazy looking mosquito, the DOF actually just about covers his entire body, just that the lenses on the eyes were so much smaller than the size of the thing that you can't see them when the pic is scaled down to 1024px. I'll admit, the DOF is off a bit on the second though, but it was acceptable.
Thanks for the comments! Also, anyone selling an MP-E by chance?

there is one on Craigslist for sale for like SUPER cheap. 65mm too. I want one just to practice with. If u have a 50mm turn it around and put the front of it on the front of the 100mm. Set them both to infinity and then u got a SUPER close macro. ha ha
How much is it going for and if you PM me a link to it, that'd be awesome, if not that's fine too, it'll just make me more broke. I'll try to haggle with the guy.
As for the reverse 50 on a 100mm, I truly hate that setup. You literally have to be mere centimeters away from anything in order to focus on it. PLUS, the 100+ tubes is just about equal to the magnification of the reverse 50 + 100mm. With the 100mm + tubes, you can be over a foot away at max focus, and even at minimum focus you're still like 8 inches away.
