I didnt mean to post unnecessarily

but your lens is supposed to be the sharpest out of all the 70 200
Crazy to think since it's the least expensive.

I may be picking it up next month before I go to SF. I'll be attempting to shoot a show up there. I owe a bunch on my cc after redoing my tC now. So, I guess it depends on how much I can bring it down before hand.
its the sharpest because its the simplest design out of all of them.

IS in a build actually lowers the lens's inherent sharpness. the f4 aperture makes it smaller and lighter too.

cheers.

GAH! I want that lens... I've heard less than steller reviews of it on APS-C bodies though. Any thoughts or opinions on that?

what did you hear negative about it?

I mustve got a good copy then ahaha because the moment I received it first thing I did was inspect the glass for imperfectons and gave it a front/back focus test, all of which it passed with flying colors.

sharpness is a wee bit better than my 28 135 except corners and edges when 24 70 wins, the extra stops helps improve black level rendition substantially. color wise don't notice much difference, the biggest difference of course is the 2.8

anyhow, its too early to tell, how well it performs, Ill be using it tomorrow night and Ill know how good it is by the week end when I process the photos.

Even so the 24-70mm range is not all that attractive on APS-C DSLRs (39-112mm) - the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 USM IS is a better and cheaper bet except regarding build quality.
I'm very interested in the photos you take with it. If you don't mind, could you post a few pics later on?

btw this is my new walk around lens.

next stop

16-35 f2.8 L and 70-200 f2 L.8 IS

that would complete the normal focal range set, except super telephoto.

ill see if I can do some street photography today and post them later on.
it was between this or the 70-200 f/2.8 is, As cool as the 70-200 looks, the 24-70 is actually a much more useful focal length for a 1.6 cropped sensor.

omg i wish i could use these lens, but i need to master the ones i have first. I am having trouble with long distance shots of landscapes. I dont know what to focus on (i like to use MF) so that my shots dont come out blurry as well as getting the right colors. I know that most of the colors are brought out in PP, but how do i help myself limit the amount i do?

What do you shoot that justifies you needing those L lenses. Im pretty happy with my setup right now witch is the 17-55 & 10-22
