rcf: i want the f/4 throughout the range plus the f/4 is supurb in quality to the 55-250. i love my 55-250. it is my racing lens (drift events, autocross) .
next question. want to know if this is a good deal i am giving someone.
$500 total.
Includes - Rebel XS / 18-55 IS / 3 4g and 1 2g SD cards / Case / Mini Tripod / All the software/hardware from Canon.

i dropped my 50....no glass broke only the plastic tabs inside so i tried putting it back together and it seemed fine. Put it back on the body. took a few pics then tried switching to the 18 55 and the lens wouldnt come out. i was like WTF?! I tried pulling it out as hard as i could and nothing so i decided to take it to a camera store and see what they could do. They said they've had that before and will fix it w/o hurting the body. So its there and its been the longest 3 days ever. i miss it so much. Had to pay $65 too and need a new lens

oh damn that sux! now i know to be super careful with my ____. i havent played with my camera yet but jus being able to hold it and turn it on a few weeks ago and i already miss it!

The plastic body of the lens SHATTERED but thank god the body was ok. I picked up a used 50 for $60 on the forums here though, and have the kit lens. I am still ____ed I did that. I was in a hurry trying to get my camera onto the quick mount on my tripod as I walked through the living room, thought it was attached... was not 
I am uber careful now and always have the neckstrap on.
