well if its on your sensor you will see specs on your "image" not your viewfinder.

 

If it's bothering you I'd just take it and have it cleaned. Shops around here charge $60 for a cleaning so I wouldn't expect it to be much different elsewhere.

i think the nikon d40 tandem with a nifty 50 1.8 (or other decent inexpensive glass) is the absolute best deal in the entire DSLR world. the only place the D40 really lacks is ISO and trying to blow up pictures very large. in good light, you can show up with D40 and compete right alongside another amateur with a camera that costs 4x as much. and it's size makes it so portable and less threatening than the huge bodies.

i hearted my D40. i wish the D90 was the same size.

I think...5D > D40. lol The 5D's image is so much more crisp and the bokeh is amazing. Ugh, WANT.

 

Can't really compare full frame to a cropped sensor. Once I get my D700 I'm never looking back lol.
