DO NOT GET THE OPTEKA GRIP. if ur gonna get a grip go with the name brand of the camera. THERE IS A REASON U PAY MORE!

 

My Opteka grip is great... Haven't had any trouble with it whatsoever. Serves it's function perfectly and cosmetically looks identical to the body of the camera. There is a reason they make a lower cost option for people without the max budget.

I also have those same grilles up there, and they look pretty sharp. The bottom one has had some trouble with all the clips locking into place, but it stays in there fine... At least they did until a shingle fell off a flatbed truck in front of me on the interstate and bounced into the grille

 

i've heard a LOT of horror stories about off brand grips.

alot of people on POTN have Opteka grips, from what i have read it is the best option outside of the Canon and the batteries last longer

a lot of people on POTN are retards too. ha ha I mean it all comes down to what the individual wants but there are certain things i'll invest more money into cause there is a reason it costs more. Lenses for example. Canon has a build quality WAY above most "off brand" like Sigma but that doesn't mean Sigma doesn't make a good lens. Heck just look at the Sigma 50 1.4. it is on par with a 50 L as far as IQ, but on BUILD it isn't.

 

ha ha sorry had flashbacks of the COLOR WARS thread I started FOREVER ago. Me and FlintmicatC started color wars between ourselves and it caught on. Bet Roja remembers that cause he is OG like that.

 

i think im going to go with the grills. i dont mind the small feel of the rebel in my hands. and dont shoot long enough at a time to need extra battery life

 

since ur getting the grilles i would recommend getting some clear epoxy to hold the bottom grille in. I've got the VRD and it fell out all the time till i put some clear epoxy on it and now i can't even kick it out. ha ha

 

i wouldnt epoxy it....i'd use silicon

i think im just going to keep my 09 grill in and just install the top in right now...later on do the bottom just to mix it up

thats what i did. i got rid of the lower for new mirror covers and signals but i liek the way it looks
