so I need some advice. I go to lots of shows/concerts and its always dark usually. what's a good lens to get for scenarios like this??

and should I get a flash? im ready to drop some money on new glass and flash. any advice would be great! I guess I need faster lenses?? help me out

 

Yeah man. Anything with a fast f/ will help you out tremendously. Depending on how close you need to get will have you dropping a lot of money though. Are you in need of a ultra wide lens (UWA) for the shots you want to attain?

so roughly 1.8 is good? cause anything faster then that is soo expensive! I only have about 500-600 to buy some stuff. not really in need of wide shots, I usually take pic of the singers or if not one person of the band at a time

do you recommend getting a flash too? im thinking about sb600, new bag and one new lens. roughly 500 ish

Yes, i recommend a flash and i would look for something like a 35 mm 2.0 or something. That way you can get close and still get good shots.

I have a 35 1.8 (got it in the mail today), 18-55 & 55-200.

so the 35 1.8 is good for shots like that? and I jus ordered a sb600 for 209 on amazon!

 

It definitely will be.

 

i wouldn't use the flash at a concert...kinda distracting. the 35 + high ISO at 1.8 should be fine.

 

people last nite seemed to be using flash but pointing it away from the target.

not really concerts just like local club Hardcore/punkshows
