anything wrong with this setup? Im using my macbook air to tether when I shoot, I'm just putting it in my backpack and I have a long USB cord and connecting the two, walking around shooting as many pics as I want. My tether opens and adds straight to lightroom which is nice too.

 

are you asking us is there anything wrong physically or wrong about the set up for walking around?

 

The 35mm f/1.8 isn't loud at all. It's AF-S so that's the quietest you're gonna get. Maybe they were talking about the 35mm f/2.

 

like is there any downside for me to use this method rather than just scan disk cards.

it could be jus me, jon. im probably too over paranoid with my camera lol I feel like my 18-55 is quieter though

 

It might just be the position of the motor. I'm not certain but I would assume the motor would be near the focus ring so on zooms they would sit further away than on a wide prime.

 

I'm going to go try it out, I put a little block so my macbook stays on and doesn't sleep.
