Lucif3r, the last one pic was taken with the kit 18-55mm lens. I must have zoom out to 18mm.

ok so I've been messing around with my 35mm lately and I love this thing lol

my main concern is its not as quiet as id expect. the 18-55 is like a whirring sound when its focusing, the 35mm not so much. its not really a clicking sound or a whirring sound, not a clanking sound either. its just alil loud. is this normal?

I know JON has this lens so I wanna ask him aswell? does it seem louder then other lenses? especially the 18-55 kit lens? maybe its just me? lol

 

my 50mm is "loud" (because of the plastic) so is my 17-70 (it's a sigma), i just kinda deal with it haha. the only quiet lens is my 70-200

Must be a cheap one then, because my Sigma 10-20mm is my fastest, quietest lens.

it is an older DC Macro lens...got it for a great price and it does the trick. the noise doesnt bother me at all (plus noise is relative so).

 

Oh, I'm sure it works great, it's just the way you said it. It's like you implied that it's loud simply because it's a Sigma lens.

I just checked the Sigma site, and they have a new version of the 17-70, which has the HSM motor, but it's a Nikon only mount.

 

its coming to canon as well (or maybe it is out) and I may get it.
