DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
plastic. it unclips so u can take it off to screw the camera on and then u can clip it back in and it locks onto the tripod. I've used it with my battery grip and all and it works great, stays secure and in place, doesn't ever feel like the camera is going to fall off, I can move it around with the camera stil in place. I've even held it horizontally with the camera in place doesn't feel like anything would happen.
I got 2 Danboards recently (the normal & the mini)
Awesome little guys, and their eyes light up.

Two static LED light sources with white cloth for diffusion (one camera left, one above the bonsai) and a black cloth backdrop.

got it all figured out. thank god. now to start actually editing pics from the wedding, i managed to stall for a few hours. i had a friend tell me that if she likes the style/outcome of the shoot shes pay me to do her wedding. i thought that was pretty cool since she lives closer to a mutual friend who is a much better (IMO) photographer then i.
to the pros on here, how long is your usual turn around time from event to handing over photos?

Here's a pano from a cafe I was at during dinnertime yesterday. The city is very, very dense.
i've spent quite some time in Turkey. it is a very interesting place, FULL of history. i really enjoyed places like Tarsus and Kizkalesi and reading about all of it's history after seeing what is still there today. the people are overall, VERY friendly. but this friendliness seems very often financially motivated which i completely understand seeing the living conditions. i dont think i ever went anywhere without my camera around my neck and shoulder and i never once felt like i shouldnt have had it with. the majority of people i photographed did not seem to mind their pictures being taken, maybe only a few strange looks here and there but that just goes with taking candid pictures of people sometimes. doesnt bother me. i wouldn't worry about your appearance in terms of "should i bring my camera out?"... everyone seems to understand that tourists take pictures lol. just like im sure they would take pictures if they were visiting another country. almost everyone was very friendly about it and nobody was outwardly unfriendly.
i would just hate for you to miss a lifelong memory moment because you chose not to bring your camera that day out of some sort of worry. i know it really bothered me when it has happened. i have fallen victim to this in the past and now never let it happen. you will NEVER get that moment back. it now comes with me EVERYWHERE, EVERYTIME. it pays off when you least expect it and then, you are very thankful.
