what do you do to shoot directly into the sun like that and make it look great? it never works for me

 

U let it drop. As u can see he shot very closely to sunset. It takes away the harshness of the lighting and also adds more dramatic directional light.

 

o ok, so would shooting around 5-7pm be horrible???

 

That would actually be preferable. U will notice softer lighting and light that is a lot easier to work with.

 

shooting during the golden hour....I managed to get some nice " sunset/storm pics" before all ssdf breaks loose down here, hopefully I can edit tonight before I lose power Already lost my A/C but all I care about is getting my 50D tomorrow!

so question for people who go on random photo walks... are cemeteries off limits? i think it would make for a pretty fun walk but i cant bring myself to disrespect the area... discuss.

 

Nah not really. People do it all the time though. Except me. I just have a problem with them.

 

Same. People do it a lot and get good shots there but I cannot do it.

 

cemetaries aren't bad. i like shots of me laying on the graves the most. *kidding* i guess after going to like 150 funerals it doesn't have the same effect that it once did on me.

 

Just tried shooting my first "model" today. About to see how the pics turned out. *crosses fingers*

MrHat, I LOVE the lens. Sometimes wish it were faster but it does a great job. I've actually thought about selling it a few times but can never bring myself to do it cause it's just too versatile to get rid of.
