DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
Sorry to quote the picture again.
As far as photography goes (I'll leave the car out of it. That's another conversation) The only thingThat i notice is the the crop on the left side is too close to the car. As soon as I look at the car, my eye gets drawn off the page. That's just me. Awesome rolling shot though.

it was a tricky shot lmao i was going about 65-70 smoking a cigarette and trying to steer away from someones convertible top falling off. i really wish it was more centered, but for being the first rolling shot ive ever done ill take it lol
thanks you guys!!
thanks you guys!!
Fairbanks, Alaska @7am local time, -31*F. (words can't do justice to how cold this really feels)

(35mm, f/1.8, 1/5, iso3200)
Using 10 heaters to try and warm up the engines/landing gear/etc... took 15 minutes of moving flight controls in order to get the fluid warm enough to be safe for flight home. crazy.

worked great. battery lost life a little bit quicker than normal but that was expected. both batteries charged right back up and have been fine since. the screen started to take on a little bit of a "fade" as you scrolled through pictures. kind of like a slideshow fade-in/fade-out. again, expected with LCD while at that temperature. i'm pretty impressed with how great the non-professional cameras work even at temperatures that low.
are there any people in this thread that are in/from chicago im here for a week and looking for people to take me to places less traveled to photograph... looking for some graffitied urban scenes.
Im staying on state street near the library but have a metro pass so willing to go anywhere...

Search around for a better price. I Just bought the body for $750, and as soon as the 18-200 dropped in price I got that. However, that is just because I didn't want the 18-105 kit lens. It all depends on your situation.
I picked up my D90 body used for under $600. Keep looking. Check the PhotoCamel forums. You should be able to find something for cheap on there. Some of those guys are trying to upgrade to the D7000.
so i just went ahead and placed my order it cost less than what i was planning to pay at best buy. and 2 day shipping is a plus.
i was thinking of going used route until i dropped my d40 and had it break.
soo i decided ill stick to a new one and get another protection plan.
either way im excited to get my hands on it already!!! while my d40 was getting fixed my friend let me borrow his d300 so i could finish my photography class i still had an assignment left and man that camera made my d40 feel like a toy. going back to it was depressing i hope the d90 fills some of the void i feel after giving the d300 back.
