I have a Nikon D90. The only issue I have with it is AF tracking. It could use more focus points like its successor the D7000 has. But I only notice when I push it to the limit for action shots like drifting for example.

Cool the D5100 and D90 are around the same price range. What are the differences I just know the D5100 is newer.

The D90's new "equivalent" is the D7000. The main drawback of the D5100 is the lack of an in-body focus motor. That means for older, non-AF-S lenses you'll have to manually focus. Most new lenses are AF-S however so it's not too big of a deal.

I really really want to post pics from my recent shoot with G2Low's GS300. They look so good. But I'm trying to keep them exclusive. So I'll only share one.

This is actually now starting to concern me. I had a little trouble at Formula D. I'm probably a couple months away from ordering a D7000 because of it lol

if only your budget was a little more. Used 7d+ a used less expensive prime. The 7d may be a little much I'd recommend the 50D but new is out of the price range. I prefer lightly used gear with a cheaper price tag.

d90 is more prosumer and d5100 is still entry level.
think of it this way if u buy the better body with a focusing motor like a d90 u can buy cheaper a variety of cheap lens like the 50mm f1.8 for $100 or a 70-300mm for $200
while if u go with the 5100 with no focus motor u will have to shell out more money for afs lenses that focus on that lower end body.
for example the nikon 50mm with a motor built in is $230 and a longer zoom like a 70-300 will cost u well over $200 with a motor built in.

as for the 35mm f1.8 its my favorite lens in my bag its pretty much welded to my d90

Some photos I did for a buddy - we ended up getting them on State of Stance, our local stance movement.

Thanks, man. That means a lot because just a couple of months ago I was saying the same thing to a few photographers I follow.

Slowly uploading photos from FD this past weekend. So far I have like half of my pit shots up. Here is my favorite non-drifting shot EVER! Let me tell you that while I shot this (and a few others that I didn't post) me and D-Mac got to know each other a little. He is one of the coolest people out there, no doubt. Enjoy.

EDIT: wow this site is a photo killer. go to my flickr for a better quality shot.

hmm...happened on your shot too. I can never photograph that falken green. It always comes out heavily desaturated in photos. :\

No I actually did that in PS RoJa. It was super bright out and I didn't have an ND filter on this lens (80-200 2.
