Awesome pictures, everybody! I really envy how sharp DSLRs shoot.
Hoping to be able to post up some stuff in this thread in another month or so when I upgrade my 35mm Canon SLR to a D90/D5100.

The lack of an internal AF motor would be a deal breaker for me. If I was going to buy a new DX camera it would be the D7000. $300 difference but you get a lot more camera.

 

thats my downside with the d5100. glad i got my d90

Yeah I was just reading about how Nikon had to temporarily move production from Japan to Malaysia until the factories are rebuilt. I can find D7k kits but the body-only packages are out of stock everywhere.

I'm not buying anything until I find out what they are for sure.

 

I loves my D7000... And it loves my Sigma 150mm 2.8 macro glass :D

 

d4 & d400

 

No one knows for sure yet. Some say D700x and D4. The article says they will be FX so that excludes the D400 (D300 replacement) for now.

 

boo......fx is still way out of my budget. so hard to say id spend 5k on a camera when im not a pro photographer.

 

I still think it'll be a D9000 (D300 replacement and that number to keep up with the number scheme Nikon has adapoted with the D3k, D5k, and D7k series). It'll be the "pro" DX flagship body. I also think it'll be the D4 they'll release with it.

Next rumored announcement date is August 22-23rd 2011

 

d300 replacement will have to be d400 but meh we wont start a debate.
