DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
Thanks man!
You should go for it! Change things up a bit.
So last night I realized that the tripod base was missing the legs. I shrugged it off, knowing that my dad has a friend that is awesome with woodworking, so I could probably have some made. Just a few minutes ago, however, I made a discovery..

Yeah. I didn't know how pricey it was until an hour or two ago, when I started to do a bit of research. I probably won't shoot a whole lot with this; it'll be more for special occasions or situations. Definitely looking forward to trying it out, though.
Good luck finding some interesting ones to shoot! Do just go out and randomly find them, or do you have a garden or something to attract them?

Yup, and that's why I'll most probably never shoot analog.
Both. My gardening skills suck because of my work schedule. I usually walk the 30 ft deep ditch, water retention ponds, and fields by my house. I either go out with my camera or I go out with bug net and housing and shoot them in my spare bedroom/studio.

Thats awesome. I love going out to search for and shoot (with my camera, of course; never a gun) animals. Takes my mind of school.

Why can't you scan them? Where'd they go?
I don't mind walking about with my camera while the temps are under 95F. Once it gets over that it's just too damned hot. I end up sweating all over the camera. The only thing that sucks about hunting with the camera is that I get very very very few keepers (thus even less wall hangers) per year as compared to using the net/studio combo. On the other hand, I appreciate the images more because it's a lot more difficult to image them in their natural habitat vs. my spare bedroom.

I was visiting family about 1000 miles from where I live. Unfortunately, I only had that evening to look at them.
Yeah, unfortunately the hot weather will be here all too soon. I wish it could be in the mid 70s all year long. I guess I could move..
I agree, though; it's pretty hard to get good shots of animals in their natural environment. It takes a lot of patience and tons of shots before you get a single decent one. Well.. That's the case for me, at least. Hah.
Finally figured out how to work this camera. I'm hoping to be able to take a few shots by the end of the week. There's some pretty old-looking film still loaded in these film holder and a few in an opened package. Not sure if they'll work very well, but I'll give it a try.

I still don't think I have the patience for video lol.
Thanks man. That's one thing I can say is cool about Atlanta, we love our cars down here.

Went to the park yesterday to test out my 80-200. Then I spent my afternoon assisting in the install of a 7M-GTE into a Cressida.

I'll post some pics from the shop later. I'm also supposed to be shooting a 1000hp R35 today.

Holy crap! Those are some really nice shots, man. Suuuper crisp.
Also.. It may be lame, but we could do a spring-themed challenge. You know.. flowers, animals, landscapes, photos with sun flares(I dont know how this represents springtime, but I included it anyway), etc.
Jasper, I think a video challenge would be awesome, but it requires much more time and equipment than a simple photography challenge. I dont know if we'd get as much participation.
Edit: One from earlier today:

Thanks man. I'm game for a Spring challenge, although most stuff around here has bloomed already. Maybe just capture anything related, like people enjoying the weather, greenery as you said, and animals. Since it's about to be April, should it be a month long challenge?
A few shots from the shop:

Forgot to mention we dropped a 13B from a Turbo II FC in this Datsun 210 the same night the 7M went into the Cressida.
