That shot portrays some serious emotion. Bad*ss dog.
I think an April-long spring-themed challenge would work well.

With all the video talk lately figured I'd post this video I made. I don't have the patience for video editing but I do own a GoPro and I did just get back from a cruise.

No need to critique, I know it sucks.

Wow that looked like a lot of fun. Like a movie-level vacation. Awesome.

How do you like the GoPro? I really want to add one to my video kit for the wide angle and small size.

I have the HD, there was another guy I met on this excursion with the 2.

Here is a much worse, mostly time-lapse video I shot when I first got it just to see what it was all about.

If you want that on car perspective I'd imagine a mount for a DSLR cost more than this camera and mount.

The guy I met with the 2 was in town for scuba diving he said below 50ft the image was still clear but it was grainy and lost most color saturation.

My car is on BC coils, no pre-load and all the way hard, it's like riding in a tank, the video has Zero shake.

Is the movie crop on the GoPro footage just a setting? Or does it have to be cropped?

It has to be cropped, but you can change it depending on the quality you need.
At 1080p you will have a 127 degree field of view, while at the other settings you will have a 170 degree field of view.

GoPros are awesome. My roommate uses his GoPro2 for longboarding and mountainbiking and gets some pretty cool footage.

Spring challenge thread is up!

Tokina 11-16 f2.8...I immediately fell in love with this lens. I wish I could justify the cost to purchase one. I absolutely love this shot.

Justify the cost? lul

Just buy it. You only live once and you can't take that money with you. I'll be getting one before the year is done. Well, that or the 16-35 f4, I have decided... Or both!!

The whites are headlights and the reds are tail lights. The truck was illuminated with a flashlight, no strobes were flashed in the making of this image lol.

Looking to upgrade to a different prime lens. I don't find myself using my 35mm 1.8G very much. It just seems like its a little too short for most of the shooting I do. Does anybody have experience with the 85mm 1.4D?

I've seen the 1.8G. I considered it, but I think I'd rather put down more money for that extra .4 f-stop. Plus, I've seen and heard that the bokeh of the 1.4D is amazing. I mostly shoot outdoors (longboarding, biking, and nature/animals) with my 55-300mm. I love it, but lighting becomes a problem when I walk around the woods or on trails around the lake. The 35mm has been useful when it comes to shooting indoors, but I just dont do it a whole lot.
