I can't do it Jon, shoot a city like that. It bores me. I really want to get into shooting food. I just don't think about it until after I am finished eating lol (I cook almost every night).

On a grand scale, I don't think cities are that interesting. It's when you get on ground level, so to speak, and capture the people and wander off the beaten path. It's even harder to do that here in Atlanta. It's more like a big neighborhood rather than a real city. Plus all the old charm was destroyed during the Civil War so there isn't much to look at.

Shooting cities contains no interest for me. Happy for those that enjoy it.

Thanks I've been getting a lot of positive feedback on them. I usually don't do b&w because it doesn't look right all the time.

Trying out my new 50mm with a friend's High Voltage tC2. Didn't realize I had to stand so far back.

Garret, thats awesome. It's been far too cloudy at night here for me to do any of that kind of stuff, but I'd really like to get into it.

Anybody wanna buy my D5100 with my 18-55 and 55-300mm? I have a friend that just moved from Nikon to Canon, so he's looking to sell off a ton of equipment, including his D700 body.

The cost of getting into it is silly expensive. I could have bought a D800 and half the trinity with the money spent on all the gear and software.

Do it. You won't regret it. Believe me lol.

I went wandering around yet again today in boring downtown . I wanted to get some shots in different conditions to test out some post-processing techniques. Now all I need is a model. Or maybe I'll just turn it into me visiting every neighborhood/borough of Atlanta.

These are beautiful shots. What strobe are you using for your shots? I'm thinking of investing in a strobe but don't know where to begin. Are you even using a strobe?

I'm not using a strobe, I am using a 12" fluorescent lamp run on an extension cord as you can see in the pictures. -___-' i need to pick up a battery operated one.

Oh sweet nice. I didn't see the extension cord hahaha. Sorry, when you mentioned it I had to look again. My main focus is the car of course~. Be very nice to have a battery operated one, so you don't have to run an extension cord. Good job once again.

Now you just need to learn how to edit those so there are no streaks but they look great!

I know I wouldn't regret it at first. But I'm trying to save for a 5-month study abroad trip to New Zealand. An upgrade to a D700 isn't the best idea right now.
But with money from distant family for Christmas and my birthday (Dec 29), I might be able to pull it off after selling my D5100 and DX lenses.
