I went to some sites that reviewed each flash separately, never against each other, so I still am unsure about which would be better for me.

I'll be back on the 20th. I'll pretty much be free that whole week except for Wednesday too.

Get on it! And post pictures when you're done! Please? :D

Well, I just need a flash. I'm not looking to buying a whole bunch of lighting equipment for shoots and whatnot. I think I might just buy the 430EX and then when I get good with it, upgrade to the 580 and use the 430 as a slave flash as you mentioned.

More suggestions/thoughts please!

I use the 430, simply because I rarely use flash. I couldnt justify paying $500 for a flash Id rarely ever use.

What ISO were you shooting at? Looks a bit grainy. Cool shot though.

the grain is there on purpose to add mood to the photo along with the blown out whites and crushed black levels tilted horizon off center perspective point all there on purpose. I have lots of clean glossy shots too depending on what I want the photo to look like.

I think the iso was at 600 or around there, not sure, I set up the camera really quick and had someone else take the pic, it was trickey telling the person how I wanted the photo composed because she wasnt familiar with photography, had to walk her through how I wanted the composition to be.

We can always go to Canoga Camera & see if they have a used 430EX there or something for a better deal.

I'll probably work on the door panels a bit today, it's tons of fiberglassing, it sucks, but I'll post pics when it's done. I mean, its going to look just like how it did before, just fits better. We'll see.

But, I haven't even posted pics of my system yet. It's always dark by the time I get home. =/

I actually found the 430EX locally for $200, so I'm gunna pick it up sometime this week. I'm planning to buy the 50mm and some other stuff when we go to Canoga though.

Meh, I'll just have to see it in person when I get back down then.
