DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
And this makes me want to find an abandoned theme park:

So scratch my previous post... The page is now working properly. We have a smaller park in Cincinnati called "Americana". It was once a pretty nice place, but the problem was, too much competition. Kings Island, Coney Island (Once the same company) and a few other small parks in the area. Eventually everyone shut down but Kings Island (at the time owned by Paramount, after Coney Island sold them the park, and re-opened Coney Island to it's full park again, but removed 95% of the rides as they were sent to Kings Island when it opened, or were sold for other parts/scrap.). So now we have 2 parks, with one or two small carnival style parks still family owned and floating around.
But back on topic, my friend Bonnie and I have been talking about going to Americana and seeing the sights. I went there a few times as a kid, and enjoyed it. Always thought it was a nice place. But it just couldn't compete with Paramount big roller coasters, and themes. Apparently, the place has been destroyed by vandals and crooks. (as to be expected) So there isn't much left. But the last video tour I went on (via youtube and a brave couple guys who get caught at the entrance at the end, but owner wasn't wise enough to realize they've been through most of the park) there just isn't much left to shoot.

I hate where I live. Great place to grow up. Otherwise it sucks. The coolest thing here is a pile of gravel down the street. For realz.
I have a huge surprise for everybody.

Buddy of mine is turning one into a Baja/Camper using a 76 VW Westfella camper bus... But it's being restored right now, until later it gets lifted about an inch, and some nice meaty narrow tires. lol.
Any air cooled VW can be turned into an awesome anything. They are light, great platform, and people have been messing with them since Hitler.

Well Im down with anything related to Hitler! So gunna pick one up later this week. Yo Aaron we should street race urs vs mine on Saturday night. Found this awesome straight n flat road named "school zone" that I think would be awesome for racing on.
I now understand your comment fully on flickr Ethan. lol... I tried to find **** patches for my passat wagon at one point. Wanted to put them on the back of the headrest just to see who'd notice.
Oh and Jon, what camera/settings did you use for those parking lot pics? And if you used digital, what did you use to get that analog feel? They look really nice and vintage, goes really well with the subjects, especially that Z-car
that pic blows my mind how did you get that one tc to hang upside down from the other tc?!
Jon used this weird technique where you put film on top of the DSLR sensor. get two exposures. digital one on the DSLR and one on the film negative.

Ethan, he placed a mirror above the car, then went into Photoshop/Lightroom/GIMP and rotated the image 180 clockwise/counter-clockwise. It's simple photographer knowledge to do that in car shots. Get with it, man
Not even, just found a conveniently placed puddle
Then used a gradient filter to get the colors the way they are. The original (without the filter) is on my profile. And that film-on-dslr-sensor technique sounds intense but makes it look better than any filter I've seen on photoshop, I'll have to try it out.

Thanks! I used a LR4 preset pack called VSCO Film. Camera is a Nikon D700. In addition to the presets, I think shooting full frame has an effect on how realistic the emulation is. Ideally you want to have the same field of view as 35mm film.
Ah so no physical film use then? My Olympus e420's sensor is a 4/3, which is considerably smaller than a full frame, do you think that'll make a big difference in image quality? Call me a noob, but I don't understand how this matters. If the 4/3 captures light on, let's say, half the surface that a full frame does, couldn't I just halve the zoom or take a few steps back since the Height/width proportions are similar? Or maybe I just need an optics lesson. Thanks for your help
