I'm not sure about the technical aspect of it. But using a different focal length to get the same photo changes things like compression and the amount of distortion.

Let's say I take a portrait with my 85mm. Keeping that focal length, but to have the same FOV, you'd have to step back from the subject. But when you do that, you'll start losing the intensity in the out of focus areas the further back you go. I think it's because you're increasing the size of the focal plane by moving away from your subject.

Here's a hard task... Take a +30 second shot (think this was around 45-60second) exposure, on a bridge, in medium winds, with out a remote shutter release. I probably snapped this one off 10 times before I got this as a result.

Here's my first attempt at a rig shot. It was really dark out so I had to increase the exposure in post causing so much noise

No, man. No film. I was just messing around. You could probably get an image of some sort if you did it, but I can't imagine that you'd get a decent product.

Stenger, Racersky; pretty sweet shots, both of you.

Racersky; the noise isnt distracting to me at all. Wouldnt have even looked for it and noticed it if you hadnt said something.

I think that's the classic case of you being your worst critic. Looks killer, nice shot!

Learning more about photoshop, and how luminance can do epic things for skies. Even in black and white.

I went and toured one of 9 former Sears Roebuck distribution centers. Ours is 2.1 million square feet. It's being converted into a multipurpose facility with retail, offices, apartments, and recreation.

I must warn you guys, I'll be uploading a lot from today. Really pleased with the experience and how the photos turned out.

These were shot with my Minolta 7D none of these have any post processing no filters on the lens
I generally shoot everything in the F8 with 100 iso or 200 iso compensating when i need to with shutter speed
(I come from a film background)

1st and 2nd shot down at Corona Beach in Corona del Mar CA off Poppy and ocean blvd
3rd was shot in HB Ca
4th was shot at a parking structure in La Palma Ca
5th I think that one is obvious

Thanks mang. But there is far more talent here, than what I bring to the table. I'd like to think my stuff would be better if I had some lens and a little better body, but I enjoy exploring area's and taking pictures. And that's what it's all about. And if I gain fame one day for it, dope. If not, I don't care. Its just a good hobby that mixes great with automotive and my love of history/urban exploring.
