SCIONS IN CANADA
here's a pic of my [dirty] SW tc plated.
the Canada Certification Label arrived from RIV a couple weeks ago, but there's no space on the pillar of the tc to adhere it. oh well...i figured out how to get a tc into canada, i'll figure out where to stick a sticker.

I wonder what Ontario would pull in? how many Scions you think? I know all you Toronto lads are going to want it closer to your end eh?
Anywhere half way would work for me. I've seen 2 or 3 in downtown Toronto. And there's a white one around Markham lowered with bB emblems. So I'm not sure how the turnout would be or how we would get in touch with all of them.

Orr, We can just do our best to set things up and really push for people to talk around and ask around, go head hunting on msg boards, I know the Toyota/MR2 guys do a big thing in Kingston...
thanks for the kind words! i've bought quite a few small things for the car so far, I will try to have it at ImportFest Skydome next year, nothing too crazy though.
I would be up for a Scion meet in the summer in the GTA if everyone else will be?

In Ontario, the auto insurance isn't provincially governed so I don't think that would be a problem. The only thing that really sucks are all the imports taxes and fees you have to pay to bring a car across the border. But for $20k CDN, that's not too bad. I imagine if the tC went for sale in Canada it would probably go for $28k+.
How are you liking the tC so far? You folks in BC don't have to worry about too much snow, so no rustproofing eh?
Are you in Vancouver? I have a friend who moved to Burnaby not too long ago from CA. I should try to convince him to get a tC too

I was looking into insurance prices a few months ago for the tC here in Toronto, Ontario, hoping I could have on imported - anyway, living in North York and attempted to try "Belaire Direct"'s cheap insurance prices...heh
They couldn't quote me on the 2007 model, but the 2006 model, with a clean driving record, 5 years experience and living in the "level 10" area - highest rate of accident area specification - the amount came out to over $8,000 for the year - horrible skyhigh rate. This was perhaps due to its crash rating, its imported status and area being high-risk.
I'd try again though - 2007 might be cleared and better off with its improved safety standards so its admittable (so we want to believe.)
Sigh-on oh Scion, how dearly I want one.
Thanks for the awesome numbers too tinyhandful! :O)
Peace,
