I have a question.
Who all works there thats part of the communitty.
Whoever does this is directed towards you.
A girl i know justbought an xB2 bout 4 months ago. Just last tuesday 8/5/08 she had a remote start put into it. and now she is having problems with it. the remote starts the car and wen she goes to unlock the car to get in it kills the car. she says shew takn it to the dealer to have it fixed. but all the people there keep telling her that it is and aftermarket issue, and its a common problem that the xb2's have been having. So they told her that she basically has to just deal with it.
Is this correct??????

He's not active in the community though so just have her call him.
Did Avondale put in the remote start? If it was put in through them, they are responsible. If it was put in by someone else, they are responsible. I honestly prefer to use Compustar. Listenup sells and installs this brand. They even make and install one for manual transmissions.

"They installed a factory remote start its made for the scion and it is suppose to turn off when i unlock the car. I am just not happy with it. They stated that i had to use the scion product because after market ones mess up the computers in the scion>>>>

Yep. I have the same starter. It will turn off when you disarm the alarm or unlock the locks. It will also flash the hazards for 20 seconds when it starts up.
Scion should have provided the Remote Start Owner's Manual. It has all the specifics (like it only runs 10 mins and turns off. If you restart it remotely again, it runs another 10 mins, but shuts off and stays off till you start it manually).
Scion should have provided the Remote Start Owner's Manual. It has all the specifics (like it only runs 10 mins and turns off. If you restart it remotely again, it runs another 10 mins, but shuts off and stays off till you start it manually).
We installed this remote start a few times at Precision Scion and from my understanding the lock is used to start the car (push lock button 3 times time and hold to start) but if you need to get in the car or ( unlock or key in ignition) it turns off. Toyota did this for safety but kinda throws the whole "convenience" factor out since it turns itself off after every action.

My xB has had a remote start in it for three years.... and it's a 5-speed. No waiver was needed either.
Aftermarket solution, no worries.

ok. from what i understand. she bought her car from avaondale a few months ago. (xB2). just about 2 weeks ago she had a remote start installed. (dont know if its part of an alarm). when she was givin choices of which remote start to get she was pushed into getting the scion remote start. the reason being is because all the aftermarket remote starts will mess the the SCIONs computer up.
I will get more info!

Sounds like a misunderstanding. Avondale is usually awesome on all acounts. I'm sure once you talk to the manager the issue will be resolved. See they know that us scion owners have an extreme word of mouth following. So I'm sure they will do you right...
BTW hello everyone.
