GOT HOSED ***UPDATED PICS***
To all of you that know about my car being worked on, the paint job was being sponsored by a bodyshop here in town, they have had my car for the past two weeks getting it prepped. I received a phone call today & to my amazement it was the owner of the shop & he proceeded to tell me he is unable to work on my car now because he is too busy
. My car looks like a$$ now because it is half sanded & half not, I can't even begin to tell everyone how upset I am

I have no idea what I am going to do with the car now as I don't have the funds available.
The sad part about it is I did not get anything in writing, so I have no recorse in the matter!!!!

that sucks Ron! You just went there last week to install your coils. All that work you did for them to screw you over like that. How's about having CB sponsor your car so you can show it off at the Roswell show! Also maybe GarageShop Customs can finish it? Anywayz sorry to hear da bad news and good luck on getting it taken care of!
You do have recourse. I assume you had SOME agreement with the shop. Can he work on it later--did he give you a schedule. I can understand him wanting to take care of paying customers. Remind him he sponsered you for advertising. If he stone walls you remind him that advertising goes two ways---good and bad word of mouth.
lets have a PAINT RONS CAR ... CARWASH... common all of our scions would def attract people..... we need 25 scions to come and wash cars to help ron get his car painted... lets get it on scionetics... we dont have any meets for a while... mabye we can still get ron down the show....
Anybody with me? locations? dates?

Make some vinyl that says "NAME OF COMPANY ruined my car" or "Ask me about my paint job".
One of the Evo guys did this when King Pin Performance destroyed his car. He put vinyl on his back and side windows that said "King Pin F&$%#@ up my car. Ask me how."

Ron, I have to say that Camelback did a great job painting my body k and installing it. I would encourage you to get with Glen and Jim and work out an agreement in getting the car painted. Jim does great work, it is a suggestion, you can count on him getting it done. The other good thing, if he is not satisfied, you are not getting the car back! He is pretty particular and you will be at his mercy when it comes to when he says “it is done”. I think that is something you can live with.
I am very sorry to hear what has happened.. Fyi ~ I would take off the part that says you used the insurance money on other things though, its probably not a good thing to have posted. Anyway if there is anything we can do just let us know.

Things will work out- we definately should let that shop know how unhappy we are by what they have done.
Keep your chin up.

That is why I never ever spend the money I have for a certain thing until it is in my hands and done. I have alot of sponsors and when they tell me something is coming or will be done in a certain time and I have the money for it just incase. I will sit on that money till it is there.
There is no contract on sponsored stuff from there end. You are on contract with them once they sponsor the stuff for you. There is no contract that they have to give you anything. I am still waiting on a part from a company that I delt with over 8 months ago. I can not call the company and say you owe me this part. They are giving it to me for free. If you think that a company owes you anything cause they sponsored the car is rediculous. Here is one of the agrrements that I had to sign.
1: Sponsorship canidate must be the owner of the car.
2: Sponsoree must provide a copy of there drivers license and insurance card.
3: All products must be kept on the car for one year.
4: The (insert compnay name) must be on the windsheild and both sides of the vehicle (windows or roll calls) for one year.
5: The sticker size specifications is NO SMALLER THAN 3"X12".
6: Whenever the vehicle is shot for a magazine or advertisement, the stickers MUST REMAIN on the car. NO EXCEPTIONS.
7: Whenever the vehicle is shot for a magazine coverage, (insert company name) MUST be mentioned as a sponsor for all products given.
8: When attending shows, you must provide any contact information we may need in order to get ahold of you as well as all show information. I.E Name, Location, and phone number of contact of show.
9: You must provide photographs of the show with you and your car in attendance.
This confirms that I understand the (insert company name) terms and conditions of the sponsorship agreement. Failure to comply will result in termination. (inser company name) has the right to terminate this contract at any time. The sponsoree must send back product not installed on vehicle at there expense. Sponsoree must pay for product not returned upon termination. If the sponsor fails to pay or return product, legal action will be taken.
So you can see, You are at there mercy when they sponsor you. That is why getting sponsored is not so easy. You have to fullfil alot with them. You have to be ready to do whatever they say.
I am sorry about what happened Ron. But you have no recourse at all. He was doing you a favor and got to busy to finish it. Yes it sucks, no doubt about it. That is why I said sponsorship isnt always the best thing. Sometimes it is better to pay for stuff.
