Dear god Ron! That is a sad sight!
I will relay these pics to my friends(who are locals) and I will have them post these as well so everyone else is warned.
This just ____es me off to see this! You should report this to the BBB or something, wouldnt this be classified as vandalism?

Ron, I checked with the Better Business Bureau website and I guess they have one other incident in the past year that was bad enough for them to post online. Maybe you should bring this up with them or take it to the Eye5 team or something like that. I know it is a different circumstance then if you pay, but you still had a verbal agreement. They might want to get involved.
At least the next shop will have less work to do. Sponsorships are really tough to come by and tougher for them to go smoothly especially when a paint job or major engine job goes. Im sure you will work it out and bring the car back to condition it was in before. Even if it takes awhile.
Ron,
I do not know you, but in Arizona, a handshake is a binding contract. Sponsorship or not. They owe you to put it back to the condition it was in prior to putting it in their care.
You should have legal rights. He owes you to put the car back in the condition you left it his care or to complete the binding handshake agreement. Agreements go both ways. You are held to keep certain decals on your ride, the company needs to be held to that contract or if he is breaking the contract, he/she needs to restore the vehicle to the condition prior to the contract if he had damaged this vehicle. He has to be responsible for this. This is a handshake agreement. If he backed out, then he owes you. If you backed out do to him taking to long, that is another story.

wow Ron,
I agree that this royally sucks.
But as said by other people,
we need to let other people know what to expect when it comes to going to that paint shop. 1. we should have a meet on a saturday (or whatever day) and display a sign that shows the kind of work people should expect when it comes to that shop. 2. we need to get pictures of you car with the sign that says what kind of work was done. get a picture of the shop and post it up everywhere possible. 3. we need to pass along the info to the rest of our friends that are also car enthusiest so that they can post the pix up on thier FORUMS.
I know i have a friend that is part of newbeetle.org and vwvorrtex.com and will post them up on his forums.

dude, move on.
It looks like they did a decent job of sanding it, and it appears like the scratches have been filled and sanded. Half of the work is done for the next guy. Take it somewhere else and get it painted. Dont waste your time with fighting it, just get the car done.
