Default Loud Exhaust in AZ ???

just wondering if anyone has had probs with police, or Sheriff Joe , around Phoenix, just installed my AW headers last week and spent the weekend in Cali trying to keep quiet(not easy) and that sucked. haven't had any probs yet and I've driven by a few cops.

I know its nothing like headers as far as volume, but I've had my HKS exhaust on for about a month, everytime I drove by a cop I looked over and none of them even glanced at me.

As far as I am aware there is no exhaust restriction laws in effect. Think about the motorcycles that thunder past you as you drive down the street.

LMAO at that is the least thing I worry about when I drive by a cop. I have never been stopped for exhaust at all. I dont think they make a huge deal about it here. Not like Cali. LOL

Only in certain parts of the city will you find noise ordinances. Im aware that in certain parts of Scottsdale (don't know which of course) there are dB restrictions. Other than that, I think the only thing they would pull people over for is how ugly their car looks.

I know Boomster gets pulled over all the time. hint hint

Ok... I actually had the ***** to ask a cop about my car...

this is what he said

We dont usually look for it, if were ____ed off that night and it strikes us as too loud we might pull somebody over.. but you can beat it in court because in arizona that noise level is just subjective we dont have any instumentation for acutally mesuring the sound output in our cars. you shold be fine... just dont gun it by officers on purpose.

almost exactly his words

oh yea and if you are worried about the sound then just get a resonator. thats what everyone in cali does and what i plan on doing if i get headers. i dont like that raspy sound so i would want to quiet it down a bit. i will get headers a 30" resonator and a highflow cat when im ready to do that mod.
